General Statement

It is good business sense for the Company to ensure that its most important resource, its staff, is treated in a fair and effective way, in relation to recruitment, training, promotion and benefits.

Legislation

It is the Company's policy to comply with all the relevant legislation currently in force; the Sex Discrimination Act 1975, the Race Relations Act 1976, the Equal Pay Act 1970 and the Disability Discrimination Act 1995.

Codes of Practice

The Company also undertakes to observe, as far as possible, the Codes of Practice approved by Parliament, which cover equal opportunities in employment.

Sexual Harassment

Sexual harassment will not be allowed or condoned. Sexual harassment means unwanted conduct of a sexual nature, or other conduct based on sex, affecting the dignity of women and men at work.

Disciplinary and Grievance Procedure

The Company will treat seriously and take action when any employee has a grievance as a result of harassment or other forms of discrimination on sexual or racial grounds or on grounds of disability.

Subcontractors

All subcontractors, as far as possible, are appointed who demonstrate observance of the relevant legislation and Codes of Practice covering equal opportunities in employment.

Monitoring and Reviewing the Policy

The Company has the responsibility for implementing this policy and monitoring its effectiveness. However, every person working within the Company also has a responsibility to ensure that discriminatory practices, of whatever nature, are not operating.

The operation of this policy in practice will be regularly monitored.
